Wonderful Citrus is seeking a Continuous Improvement Project Leader for its Delano, CA location. The (CI) Continuous Improvement Project Leader will evaluate, analyze and implement processes throughout the organization to help identify waste reduction opportunities that support our overall strategic objectives.  This position will also improve manufacturing processes and methods for cost-reduction, quality improvement, and efficiency gains by leveraging lean manufacturing principles.

  • Provide knowledgeable assistance as a resource to our operations teams - helping to identify sources of waste while planning and implementing continuous improvement projects.
  • Leverage Lean methodology to identify, charter, and lead significant improvement initiatives – delivering the project results on time.
  • Work closely with production, maintenance, and other support functions in developing and implementing solutions based on Lean Manufacturing principles, tools, and techniques.
  • Act as a liaison within and between plants and departments, on operational excellence best practices.
  • Provide timely project status updates, feedbacks, and appropriate reporting for key activities assigned.
  • Carry out follow-up programs to maintain the achieved savings, to complete additional training, to detect further savings opportunities, as well as ensure the overall continuity of the project.
  • Demonstrate consistent learning of Lean Manufacturing methodologies.


  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in an engineering or similar technical field, and combination of 1 - 2 years working experience while in college or industries. CI activities and/or experience in a manufacturing environment desired. In lieu of professional experience, college graduates with proper GPA and skill-set will be considered.
  • Previous experience as a leader or team member of continuous improvement projects desirable.
  • Experience in successfully managing teams within an operations environment is desired.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, along with time management and ability to be self-directed.
  • Candidate should be results-oriented with good project management, organizational, and prioritization skills while being able to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Advanced interpersonal skills, along with the ability to communicate effectively and maintain credibility across all levels in the business.
  • Ability to address objections and overcome obstacles in a productive and supportive manner. 
  • Demonstrated passion for solving problems and driving operational excellence.
  • Must have superb communication, mediation, and facilitation skills.
  • Food manufacturing and/or fresh produce experience highly preferred.
