Overview

Wonderful Citrus is seeking a Refrigeration Technician for its Mission, TX  location. Ideal candidate will repair and maintain industrial equipment and utilize knowledge and experience in a mechanical or facilities trade in refrigeration, compressed air, water systems and electrical components. Position will be responsible for setting up, examining, troubleshooting and repairing equipment and continually providing preventative maintenance.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

 

With little or no supervision:

  • Observes mechanical devices in operation and visually and audibly assesses their operation to locate causes of trouble.
  • Dismantles malfunctioning systems and devices to gain access to, remove, and replace defective parts.
  • Tests components using electrical, mechanical and pneumatic testing equipment.
  • Documents all work done on work orders per established procedures. 
  • Starts system, observes operation, read gauges and instruments, and adjusts mechanisms, such as valves, controls and pumps to control level of fluid, pressure and temperature in the system.
  • Will document and inform Supervisor or Manager of potential problems related to daily and weekly log sheet recordings.
  • Will maintain and service screw and reciprocating compressors, recirculation pumps and associated control systems.
  • Maintain a safe environment by following regulations and plant safety requirements. 

 

With supervision:

  • Will develop, schedule and perform Preventative Maintenance schedules for Facilities and Utility systems and processes.
  • Maintain all necessary paperwork associated with the PSM program.
  • Other duties outside of refrigeration may be assigned relating to general plant maintenance.Manages outside contractors' work as needed in utility systems.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manages outside contractors' work as needed in utility systems.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 3-5 YRS Experience (Minimum of 2 YRS experience in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Refrigeration Maintenance)
  • Strong troubleshooting/service experience for industrial refrigeration systems.
  • Skilled in programming refrigeration control systems.
  • RETA course I, II, Ill certificates
  • Must be RETA CARO certified and be RETA CIRO certified within one year of being hired.
  • Universal EPA certification.
  • Knowledge of PSM/RMP and OSHA safety regulations.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Must be able to work independently.
  • Clean driving record & able to pass a drug test, background & work authorization check.
