Wonderful Citrus is seeking a Nursery Maintenance and Repair Technician for its Visalia, CA location. Ideal candidates will oversee all equipment functionality and safety in Citrus Nurseries. Coordinate activities of maintaining and repairing facility mechanical and/or electrical equipment, physical structures of buildings and maintaining grounds, and/or mobile equipment by performing the following duties.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:


  • Ensures self and coworkers are compliant with all safety rules and regulations (LOTO, fall protection, hot work, etc.).
  • Defines and implements preventive maintenance plans, uptime and downtime inspections, and lubrication routes for assigned equipment.
  • Technical expert on all pieces of facility equipment.
  • Leads root cause analyses to eliminate recurring issues.
  • Manages key performance indicators (safety, PM attainment, rework, equipment availability).
  • Effectively communicates accurate and complete information to appropriate personnel.
  • Leads self-driven projects aimed at increasing internal knowledge, maximizing equipment uptime, and/or decreasing cost to assets and department.
  • Under direction from management leads and organizes all parts involved in execution of projects i.e. fabrication and construction
  • Utilizes programs such as Excel, Outlook and Word daily to create reports and communicate information.
  • Performs uptime and downtime inspections, lubrications, and preventative maintenance.
  • Utilizes predictive technologies such as thermal imaging and ultrasonic to gain an understanding of machine condition and estimated lifespan.
  • Understands basic principles of lubrication and how to apply within the facilities.
  • Troubleshoots and performs corrective work on all mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems within the facility.
  • Identifies and executes improvements on equipment, documentation, work systems, and processes.
  • Collaborates with different levels of employees in various departments of the facility through face-to-face, telephone, email and radio communications.
  • Provides training and development to operators and other maintenance personnel.
  • Researches system and component specifications using equipment manuals, schematics, parts breakdowns, online information, and vendor communication.
  • Dismantles and reassembles complex pieces of machinery in an efficient, precise and reliable manner
  • Operates cutting, welding, and various other fabrication equipment to cut, form, and/or join materials.
  • Escalates technical, procedural, and personnel related issues to direct lead or supervisor as necessary.
  • Requisitions tools, equipment, services, and supplies.
  • Work with moral integrity on a consistent basis.

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Technical degree and three years or more of related experience and/or training in a production/manufacturing environment is preferred (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
