Overview

Wonderful Citrus is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Supervisor for its Delano, CA location. Ideal candidates will possess a strong technical background supporting and maintaining the facilities of an industrial manufacturing plant. The Facilities Supervisor will be responsible for supervising and coordinating activities of personnel engaged in maintaining and repairing plant functionality, mechanical and/or electrical equipment, physical structures of buildings, maintaining grounds, custodial personnel, roll up doors and mobile equipment. Candidates must be hard-working with a strong work ethic and an unfaltering determination to excel in a fast-paced environment, and a desire to gain personal and career growth.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain Landscape; plants, shrubs, trees, lawns, sprinklers, etc.
  • Maintains function and reliability of facility systems and associated equipment by implementing a preventive and predictive maintenance program; operating and testing systems and equipment; restoring, repairing, rebuilding, or replacing faulty or inoperative components and parts.
  • Manage preventive maintenance on sweepers, power mowers, riding mowers, and other powered grounds equipment.
  • Experience with plumbing systems operation and repair.
  • Maintain a program to perform equipment inspections daily to ensure proper working condition and can accurately complete work order documents noting work done, time required and parts used.
  • Experience with painting. Understand what primers/finishes to use.
  • Experience with repairing concrete and blacktop surfaces, dry wall, ceilings, etc.
  • Manage fork lift mechanics. Must understand and be familiar with repairs to electric as well as propane forklifts.
  • Manage the custodial crew for the entire facility. Must understand basic sanitary requirements and chemicals used to clean rest rooms, offices, the café, productions platforms, stairwells, etc.
  • Building teams through creating common goals and maintaining a transparent work environment; provide feedback and communicate effectively; performs work appraisals of employees.
  • Manage air handler operation; filter changes, motor changes, float changes.
  • Oversees work backlog and scheduling process for assigned area and coordinates work with counterparts.
  • Identify opportunities and implement/modify current processes to increase efficiency of work crew.
  • Analyzes and resolves building opportunities.
  • Confers with supervisors and managers to coordinate activities in all areas.
  • Coordinates vendor support and training as needed.
  • Actively participates in hiring and onboarding processes of new employees.
  • Investigates and follows up on safety outages, and works toward proactively sustaining a safe work environment.
  • Ensures work is completed in accordance with relevant codes and with proper documentation.
  • Champions continuous improvement activities to improve processes, quality and service.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Analytical, troubleshooting and problem solving skills required.
  • Must possess a high level of mechanical & electrical aptitude and be an effective communicator, mentor, and trainer.
  • Detail-oriented, highly organized, and committed to superior quality.
  • Proactive individual that takes responsibility for their areas of responsibility and the continuous improvement of the operation.
  • Able to work in a team environment where honest communication, a positive attitude, engagement, and personal accountability is expected.
  • Able to work off-shifts, weekends & extended shifts (i.e. 12 hrs.)
  • Understands, leverages, and champions the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) per established procedures - *Experience with Oracle is a plus.
  • Experience with continuous improvement, processes/procedures, as well as equipment optimization.
  • Experience with 5S implementation and sustainability.
  • Understands, implements, and interprets KPI’s to measure success.
  • Effective written and verbal communication as well as interpersonal skills to work in a collaborative team environment that includes; shared responsibilities, establishing and maintaining good working relationships with others to support team and company objectives and a willingness to work in all areas of the facility.
  • Minimum 5 years in a facility supervisor role or related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. High School diploma required. Degree preferred.
  • Prior ground/building maintenance to include plumbing, drywall, air handlers, and electrical. Additionally, experience with managing a custodial team supporting a processing plant environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop cross functional relationships, manage projects through their full life cycle (idea to implementation), and break down complex problems into simple solutions.
  • Excellent management skills including supervision, leadership, communication and planning necessary.
  • Excellent organizational skills, ability to prioritize tasks and meet constant deadlines with strong attention to detail and quality control.
