Wonderful Citrus is seeking a Warehouse Lead for its Delano, CA location. The Lead will manage the daily activities of his/her area including ownership of the results, coaching the temporary employees, interfacing with other departments and meeting production goals and KPIs. One of the expectations of this position is that the candidate will be trained and will train others to work in all functional areas of the departments including but not limited to dock, cold box, conveyance lines and battery room, including all personnel, forklifts, trunk lines, battery changer, and sweepers.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Coordinate the startup activities of the area including staffing needs, equipment availability, production schedule, and special requests from sales.
  • Monitor team member’s hours, breaks, lunch periods and schedules as efficiently as possible to minimize downtime.
  • Responsible for ensuring that team members take breaks and lunches as required by CA State Law and coordinates staffing to ensure positions are covered during these times.
  • Work with other leads to manage immediate tasks as well as outages and special request.
  • Assist in the continuous improvement efforts at the facilities in Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost and People.
  • Conduct Safety and Food Safety audits to assure compliance to WC standards.
  • Inspect equipment area and complete work orders as necessary.
  • Responsible for operating computer systems to track attendance and productivity.
  • Able to read and respond to emails in a professional manner.
  • Daily auditing of the cleanliness and 5S organization of the area. Teach and provide direction to employees to meet requirements.
  • Interprets company policies and procedures to team members, works with team members to resolve job problems.
  • Ensure team members are trained in the safe and efficient operation of equipment in their area.
  • Coach and inspire each member of their area to achieve a higher level of performance. Be a good role model in the dept.
  • Conduct safety incident investigations and complete necessary paperwork.
  • Ensure KPIs are met and develop action plans on outages.
  • Schedule FTOs and other personnel as business need require.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Must have advanced computer skills; experience required using Microsoft Windows (i.e. Excel and Word).
  • Basic mathematical skills required. Must understand ratios, minimums and maximums and percentages.
  • Ability to multi-task and be comfortable in a fast-paced work setting.
  • Excellent interpersonal and coaching skills.
  • Facilitates a good teamwork environment.

  • High school diploma and two years’ warehouse experience or equivalent education and experience.
