Wonderful Citrus is seeking a Farming Supervisors in Training for its California location. The successful candidate will supervise farming operations for designated area, plan daily tasks for work group, purchase needed materials, and assist in budgeting process. This individual will be responsible for all aspects of the day-to-day cultural and/or technical operations of citrus orchards within specified area. They will also work with other departments, and outside contractors, to optimize efficiency of farming operations.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Plan, organize, and coordinate activities pertaining to the production of citrus in assigned geographic areas
  • Supervise day to day operations, including: fertility, pest control, weed control, irrigation, pruning, frost protection, and other related ranch projects
  • Give direction, display leadership, provide training and guidance, and promote teamwork within the labor force and other departments within Wonderful Citrus for a productive and harmonious work atmosphere
  • Schedule, coordinate, supervise and monitor all irrigation functions by implementing irrigation schedules
  • Supervise full-time employees year-round, as well as the seasonal employees required to complete the cultural tasks


  • B.S. degree in Agricultural related studies or three years agricultural operations experience.
  • Understanding of citrus cultural programs and the ability to implement these programs, including irrigation, pruning, fertility, pest control, weed control, and soil amendments.
  • Must have the ability to communicate effectively and comply with local, state and federal regulatory agencies.
  • Necessary to have basic understanding of safety programs and pesticide use reporting. Helpful to have knowledge of the scope and operation of private and federal water districts in the San Joaquin Valley.
